Asante Kotoko midfielder and Vice-Captain, Justice Blay, has pledged his future to the club with a new contract extension that will keep him with the Porcupine Warriors until 2026.
Blay’s previous contract was set to expire in January 2025, but after fruitful negotiations, the club confirmed the extension on Thursday through their official social media channels.
“We’re thrilled to announce that Vice-Captain Justice Blay has committed to a new deal that will keep him with Asante Kotoko for another 18 months,” the club said in a statement. “This extension is a testament to Blay’s dedication to the club and his determination to help us achieve our aspirations.”
Blay first joined Kotoko on loan from Medeama SC in the 2019/2020 season, quickly making an impact with two goals in 12 appearances. His strong performances earned him a permanent move ahead of the 2021/2022 season.
Since then, Blay has become a key figure in the team’s midfield, playing in 56 league matches. This season, he has appeared in 12 of 15 Ghana Premier League games, scoring once and showcasing the leadership that has made him a fan favourite.
With this extension, Asante Kotoko secures not only Blay’s experience and consistency but also his influential role as they continue their pursuit of success.
