Inter Milan’s hopes of closing the gap on Serie A leaders Napoli were dashed as they were held to a 2-2 draw at home by mid-table Bologna.
The defending champions were unable to narrow the gap to just one point behind Napoli, leaving them three points adrift. However, Inter do have a game in hand over their rivals.
Bologna took an early lead in the 15th minute with Santiago Castro’s strike before Denzel Dumfries quickly equalized just four minutes later with a rebounded effort.
Inter then took control and went ahead just before halftime when Lautaro Martinez finished from close range to give them a 2-1 lead.
However, Bologna responded in the second half, with Emil Holm’s deflected shot finding the back of the net in the 64th minute, leveling the score at 2-2.
