General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua, has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the party’s institutional structures rather than supporting individual interests.

According to him, his ultimate goal is to help the NPP become a more formidable and well-organized political force, capable of reclaiming power in the 2028 general elections.

In response to recent allegations made by Shaibu Lasisi, a journalist affiliated with Kencity Media in Kumasi, Lawyer Kodua denied claims of bias in the party’s internal electoral processes.

He firmly stated that he has never influenced nor shown preference regarding the sequence of the NPP’s upcoming internal elections — including the flagbearer race and other lower-level contests such as polling station, constituency, regional, and national elections.

“I have never engaged in any conversation or taken any action that suggests I’m pushing for a particular order of elections or supporting any candidate,” he emphasized. “My interest lies in building a united and resilient NPP, not promoting personalities.”

Kodua explained that his fairness stems from personal experience, having benefited from the party’s transparent electoral processes. He vowed to uphold those same standards, ensuring a level playing field for all.

International Engagements:
Addressing further claims that he has aligned himself with specific factions through overseas travels, Lawyer Kodua clarified that all such trips were undertaken in his official capacity as General Secretary. These include invitations to events such as the Harvard Business School lecture and the International Democrat Union (IDU) conference.

“Every invitation I honor is either addressed to me or the party office. These are official duties, not personal alliances,” he clarified, adding that he recently visited the party’s Holland branch to express support for a sick chairman, not to engage in political maneuvering.

Party Reforms and Proposals:
Kodua also revealed that the NPP is in the process of collecting reform proposals from members worldwide. These ideas will be discussed and refined during the upcoming national conference. Any that receive broad support will be adopted as part of the party’s roadmap for both internal and national elections leading into 2028.

“As General Secretary, my mission is to shepherd this reform process and ensure the NPP is governed by strong structures—not individuals,” he said.

Through these efforts, Justin Frimpong Kodua aims to position the NPP as a united and principled party, ready to face future political battles with discipline and focus.
