IGP Yohuno Vows to Elevate Ghana Police with Integrity and Reform

Newly sworn-in IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno pledges to uphold professionalism, transparency, and discipline while modernizing the Ghana Police Service.

The new Inspector General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno has reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the integrity and professionalism of the Ghana Police Service.

Speaking after his official swearing-in at the Jubilee House on Friday, March 14, IGP Yohuno emphasized his vision for a disciplined, transparent, and accountable police force.

The ceremony was presided over by President John Dramani Mahama, who officially entrusted him with the responsibilities of the nation’s top policing role.

In his acceptance speech, Yohuno outlined his agenda to modernize the service while preserving its core values. He assured the President, government officials, and the public that his leadership would be defined by discipline, respect for hierarchy, and a renewed focus on service delivery.

“As part of the transformation and modernization of the service, I pledge to uphold the values and traditions of the Ghana Police Service in line with the President’s resetting agenda,” he stated. “Professionalism, transparency, accountability, and fairness will be the pillars of my administration, ensuring a renewed attitude towards law enforcement.”
