If Mahama Completes Suame Interchange, NPP Will Be Credited – Asenso Boakye
Asenso Boakye Emphasizes the Importance of Completing the Suame Interchange, Prioritizing Progress Over Political Credit

- Asenso Boakye stresses that completing the Suame Interchange is more important than who gets credit for it
- The project has secured the necessary funding
- The Suame Interchange is crucial for improving traffic flow and infrastructure in Kumasi
Hon. Asenso-Boakye, the Member of Parliament for Bantama, has stated that if President John Mahama’s administration completes the ongoing Suame Interchange project, the credit would rightfully go to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He emphasized that the NPP started the project and, if they had been in power, would have ensured its completion within the planned timeline.
In an interview on the Ghana Se Sen Morning Show on Lawson TV/Radio, Asenso-Boakye highlighted that the Suame Interchange, a crucial infrastructure project for the Ashanti Region, already has dedicated funding in place.
He pointed out that the project is essential for improving transportation and easing traffic congestion in the area, which would significantly benefit the people of Kumasi and beyond.
However, Asenso-Boakye made it clear that his primary concern is not about who receives credit but about seeing the project completed.
He expressed a strong personal interest in the successful finalization of the Suame Interchange, stressing that it is a key part of the region’s development and infrastructure needs.
“The completion of the Suame Interchange is more important to me than credit. It’s about delivering progress for the people of Kumasi and ensuring that they have access to better roads and improved mobility,” he said.
The Suame Interchange, which has been a long-awaited project, is expected to significantly improve the flow of traffic in one of the busiest areas of Kumasi, enhancing the overall infrastructure of the city.
While the project has faced delays, Asenso-Boakye remains hopeful that its completion will come sooner rather than later, regardless of which government takes credit.
