Former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, has described his recent legal battle as a transformative experience that has strengthened his resolve and shaped him into a better person.
His comments come in the wake of an $18 million defamation lawsuit won by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in the United States. The jury in Essex County, New Jersey, ruled in Anas’ favor, marking a major legal victory. However, Agyapong has since appealed the verdict, which is yet to be reviewed.
Addressing his supporters, he expressed gratitude for their unwavering backing and urged them to remain composed despite the outcome.
“This shows that you recognize my efforts to stand up for the voiceless. I urge everyone to stay calm—there’s no need to worry. Anyone who speaks the truth and fights for the marginalized will face challenges like this,” he said.
“Honestly, this ordeal has only made me stronger and more determined to defend the country and those without a voice,” Agyapong added.
