“I Will Appear Before the Disciplinary Committee; I’m Not Behind the ‘Kangaroo Committee’ Statement” – Abronye
The Bono Regional NPP Chairman distances himself from a viral statement attacking the party's disciplinary process, describing it as a fake release by internal saboteurs

- Abronye denies authoring a viral statement rejecting the NPP’s disciplinary process
- He accuses suspended and rival party members of fabricating the release
- Affirms he has received official communication and will appear before the committee
The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has firmly denied authorship of a statement circulating on social media in which he allegedly rejected a disciplinary referral by the party.
In a sharp rebuttal titled “Disregard This Unintelligent Propaganda,” Abronye distanced himself from the earlier publication, describing it as fake, malicious, and the handiwork of disgruntled individuals within the party.
“My attention has been drawn to a letter circulating on social media and other platforms, falsely attributed to me,” Abronye stated, accusing Maxwell Mahama, a suspended party member; Amankwaa Agyare, a known Kennedy Agyapong campaign coordinator in the region; and one Maxwell Osei Bonsu of masterminding the forgery.
He emphasized that the language and tone of the purported statement “betray the malicious intent and ill motive of its authors” and insisted it did not originate from him.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I have duly received an official communication from the General Secretary of the NPP, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua, and I will respectfully avail myself to the Disciplinary Committee as directed,” he clarified.
Abronye’s statement marks a significant departure from the earlier claims attributed to him, in which he was alleged to have labelled the committee a “Kangaroo Disciplinary Committee” and vowed not to appear before it.
He has urged the public and party faithful to disregard what he called a “poorly crafted release,” stressing that it deserves “the utmost contempt.”
Full statement below;
Disregard This Unintelligent Propaganda
My attention has been drawn to a letter circulating on social media and other platforms, falsely attributed to me—Kwame Baffoe Abronye, Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Let me state unequivocally that the content and language of the said letter clearly betray the malicious intent and ill motive of its authors. This mischievous fabrication is the handiwork of Maxwell Mahama, a disgraced and suspended former member of the party; Amankwaa Agyare, who parades himself as the regional coordinator of the Kennedy Agyapong campaign in the Bono Region; and one Maxwell Osei Bonsu.
I wish to categorically state that this unintelligent and poorly crafted release did not—and could not—have originated from my office. It should be treated with the utmost contempt it deserves. Is it not curiously funny that a letter supposedly written by my good self is being circulated across platform by these named individuals who are avowed enemies of mine? Very laughable!
For the avoidance of doubt, I have duly received an official communication from the General Secretary of the NPP, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua, and I will respectfully avail myself to the Disciplinary Committee as directed.
Thank you.
Kwame Baffoe Abronye
