In a recent address to Ghanaians residing in Benin, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa announced that the government is set to remove the COVID-19 levy in its next budget.

He emphasized that only one tax remains before the government fulfills its promise to eliminate four taxes previously imposed. The minister’s announcement was met with cheers from the audience.

Ablakwa highlighted that the government had already scrapped the betting tax, E-Levy, and emissions tax, following the president’s approval of the relevant bills on April 2.

He also reassured the community about ongoing developments in Ghana, urging them to trust in the current administration’s commitment to its promises, especially regarding investments in youth development.
