Goosie Tanoh, Special Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy, has emphasized that the newly introduced policy is designed to grow through public engagement and constructive criticism.
Speaking at the programme’s official launch on Wednesday, July 2, Tanoh described the initiative as a science-based, socially democratic effort meant to evolve in response to Ghana’s shifting economic landscape.
Tanoh highlighted the importance of public feedback, stating that openness to critique and suggestions is central to the programme’s development. “We see the 24-Hour Economy as a living, breathing policy—anchored in research and social justice but flexible enough to adjust as the environment changes,” he said.
He stressed that the success of the initiative hinges on adaptability, learning from experience, and a readiness to fine-tune strategies in real time.
According to Tanoh, this approach is essential for driving meaningful transformation in the short, medium, and long term.
Commending President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership, Tanoh praised him as a forward-thinking leader committed to sustainable, inclusive economic growth. “Our President embodies the spirit of responsible entrepreneurship and national progress. As a nation, we have the capacity to make this work,” he affirmed.
The 24-Hour Economy initiative aims to stimulate round-the-clock productivity, boost employment, and optimize the use of national infrastructure. It is expected to serve as a catalyst for job creation, industrial growth, and long-term economic resilience in Ghana.
