DJ Arrested for Alleged Defilement of 9-Year-Old

A 30-year-old man, known as DJ, has been arrested by Gomoa Nyanyano police for allegedly defiling a 9-year-old girl and then giving her ¢5.00 to keep quiet.
The alleged incident occurred on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, while the victim’s mother was at work. Upon returning home, the mother, Madam Sarah Lamptey, found her daughter with ¢5.00.
After initially being hesitant, the child told her mother what had happened. Seeing bloodstains on her daughter’s underwear, Madam Lamptey immediately took her to the Gomoa Nyanyano community clinic.
Doctors’ tests confirmed the child had been defiled. The suspect, Mr. Essuon (DJ), denied the allegations but was arrested.
The child has since been transferred from the Gomoa Nyanyano community clinic to the Kasoa Mother and Child Clinic for further treatment.
