Ghana’s economy is making an impressive recovery, outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revealed, highlighting key indicators of robust economic growth.
In his final New Year Message on December 31, the President emphasized the nation’s significant strides, with a 7.2% growth rate recorded in the third quarter of 2024 and an overall projected growth rate of 6.8% for the year.
“These achievements are not just numbers but reflect lives transformed and brighter futures,” President Akufo-Addo stated, commending the resilience of Ghanaians and strategic government efforts in overcoming global and domestic challenges.
Reflecting on the nation’s journey, he acknowledged the trials faced, especially in the post-COVID-19 era, but celebrated the collective strength that has enabled recovery. “The pandemic tested our limits, but it also reminded us of who we are—a people who rise together no matter the odds.”
As Ghana enters 2025, the President called on citizens to hold onto hope and unity, which have been instrumental in navigating difficult times and building a brighter economic future.
