The Ghana Meteorological Agency has sounded a weather warning for today, forecasting thunderstorms and rain across parts of southern Ghana — including major tourist hotspots.

A moderate rainstorm developing over the Gulf of Guinea is expected to push inland, bringing thunderclouds and varying intensities of rainfall to the coastal and middle zones. Areas likely to be affected include Accra, Kasoa, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Ho, Kintampo, and Koforidua.

In addition, a separate storm system moving from Togo is projected to sweep across northern and transitional belts later in the afternoon, impacting towns such as Wa, Tamale, Yendi, and Techiman.

The agency also warns of strong gusty winds and rough sea conditions, urging residents, travelers, and especially those near coastal areas and tourist destinations to exercise caution and stay informed.

Safety Tip: Secure loose items, avoid low-lying flood-prone areas, and postpone sea travel if possible.
