Outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has rejected claims that Ghana’s economy is in crisis, highlighting the nation’s strong financial reserves.

During his last State of the Nation Address, he confidently stated that the country is not “broke,” revealing that Ghana is being handed over with nearly $8 billion in international reserves.

He emphasized the difference between the current state of reserves and what his administration inherited in 2017—$6.2 billion.

The President stressed that while critics continue to speculate about economic mismanagement, the hard facts speak for themselves.

“The noise will not drown out the statistics,” he declared, affirming his commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility as debates over Ghana’s economic challenges continue.
