Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed Ghana as a model of democratic excellence and forward-looking development, calling it an inspiration for the African continent.
During an address to Ghana’s Parliament on his official state visit, PM Modi praised the country’s enduring commitment to democratic governance, resilience, and inclusive growth.
“Ghana stands as a nation of strength and dignity—turning trials into triumphs, and history into hope. Your steadfast dedication to democratic principles and inclusive progress makes Ghana a true guiding light for Africa,” he remarked.
His speech was warmly received with applause from lawmakers and dignitaries in attendance.
PM Modi’s visit aims to strengthen ties between India and Ghana, with key areas of focus including trade, technology collaboration, education, and cultural partnerships.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister paid tribute to Ghana’s founding father by visiting the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, where he laid a wreath at the tomb of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and his wife, Fathia Nkrumah.
