Former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged Ghanaians to prioritize peace and unity as the nation gears up for the December 7 elections.
At the 4th Presidential Election Peace Pact signing in Accra on November 28, Mahama called on all citizens to foster stability, emphasizing the collective responsibility to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections.
“Let us pledge to promote peace during these elections and create an environment conducive to democratic integrity. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and future generations to protect Ghana’s long-standing peace and stability,” Mahama remarked.
He encouraged political leaders, supporters, and citizens to avoid actions that could incite violence, highlighting peaceful coexistence as essential for the nation’s growth.
Similarly, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, appealed to political parties, media, and security agencies to uphold peace before, during, and after the elections, reaffirming Ghana’s democratic resilience.
