The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is mourning the loss of former Vice Chairman Joseph Ade Coker, who passed away in the early hours of Sunday, June 1, after a brief illness.
He died at the Bank Hospital at the age of 68.
Ade Coker’s death has sent ripples through both Ghana’s sports and political communities.
In addition to his role with the GFA, he was a longtime Chairman of Accra Great Olympics Football Club and a key figure in local football administration.
Coker also served as the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from 2009 to 2022, leaving behind a legacy of leadership in both politics and sport.
In a tribute, the GFA described him as “a dedicated servant of the game whose leadership and passion greatly shaped Ghana football,” adding, “Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.”
