GES Moves to Reinstate Sacked Teachers—Validation Process Underway
Affected teachers must complete verification by March 14, as government reverses revocation of appointments

- GES has set up a committee to validate and reinstate affected teachers
- Teachers must submit their appointment letter, academic certificate, licensure certificate, and national service certificate
- All affected teachers must complete the validation process by this date
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has initiated steps to reinstate all teachers whose appointments were recently revoked by the government.
To facilitate this process, a special committee has been set up to oversee the validation of affected teachers. As part of the requirements, teachers must submit their appointment letter, academic certificate, licensure certificate, and national service certificate for verification.
The validation process is expected to be completed by March 14, 2025.
Reacting to the development, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, Member of Parliament for Tafo in the Ashanti Region, expressed gratitude to the President for reconsidering the decision, having previously criticized the dismissals as unfair to young Ghanaian professionals.
He further urged the government to extend the same reconsideration to other affected sectors, particularly employees of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), whose appointments were also terminated.
In a social media post, he remarked:
“The chickens are coming home to roost. Thank you, Mr. President. Respectfully, may you consider the other agencies, especially PMMC workers, who had their appointments terminated even though they were recruited and appointed in 2022—yes, 2022, Mr. President. Kindly look upon your children with favor, Sir.”
