DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe has officially assumed the role of Ashanti Regional Police Commander.

He replaces DCOP Frank Abrokwa, who has been transferred to the Police Headquarters in Accra following his handling of security during the Ashanti Regional Council of State election.

The election, held on Tuesday, February 11, at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) in Kumasi, began smoothly but spiraled into chaos when machomen, reportedly linked to the NDC from Obuasi, disrupted proceedings during the sorting of ballot papers.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command’s inability to effectively manage the situation led to DCOP Abrokwa’s reassignment. A transfer letter was promptly issued to him after the incident.

Before his new appointment, DCOP Teye Cudjoe served as the Central North Regional Commander.

Welcoming the new Police Commander, Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene expressed optimism about collaborating with him to maintain peace, stability, and security in the region and across the nation.
