A new petition has been presented to President John Dramani Mahama, requesting the removal of Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang from the Supreme Court.

The petition, filed by Nii-Adjei Duah, a Ghanaian citizen and member of the Tsie We Family of Teshie, calls for the removal of the senior judge. The details of the petition remain undisclosed as of now.

Dated March 17, 2025, the petition was addressed to Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Sackey Torkornoo, with copies sent to the president, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the Judicial Council, the Speaker of Parliament, and key figures from Teshie, including Numo Badu Odaano Odiapenser I and Osabu-Ayiku Wulomo.

This petition follows the ongoing controversy surrounding petitions for the removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

On March 25, 2025, Minister of State Felix Kwakye Ofosu confirmed that President Mahama had forwarded three petitions seeking the Chief Justice’s removal to the Council of State for further consultation.
