President John Mahama has directed all government appointees to declare their assets as part of efforts to combat corruption and promote transparency in governance.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of six newly appointed ministers at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the President emphasized that “business as usual” is no longer acceptable.

“I expect all of you to begin the process of declaring your assets,” President Mahama stated, adding that the Chief of Staff will soon announce a deadline for all appointees to submit their asset declaration forms to the Auditor-General.

Reaffirming his commitment to fighting corruption, the President pledged to empower anti-corruption agencies to investigate and address misconduct within his administration.

He urged his appointees to serve with humility and integrity, cautioning against arrogance and disrespect. “Ghanaians have spoken through their votes—they demand the highest standards of governance, and we cannot fail them,” he stressed.

President Mahama further reminded his team of the responsibility they owe to the Ghanaian people, stating that their trust requires accountability, modesty, and prudence in governance. “It cannot be business as usual. The people of Ghana will hold us accountable for the trust they have placed in our hands.”
