- Elon Musk regrets harsh social media posts about Donald Trump
- Their public feud ended a previously close partnership
- Musk’s comments raised concerns about Tesla and SpaceX’s future
On Wednesday, June 11, tech magnate Elon Musk expressed regret over a string of recent social media remarks targeting former President Donald Trump.
The comments came amid a heated public dispute that has effectively ended the once-close collaboration between the two.
Previously, Musk had played a leading role in the Department of Government Efficiency during Trump’s second term, but the fallout has raised investor concerns about the future of Musk’s major ventures, including Tesla and SpaceX.
“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk admitted on the X platform.
The confrontation began when Musk harshly criticized Trump’s proposed spending bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination” and urging political pushback against Republican supporters of the measure.
The White House took notice. Speaking to NBC News, Trump warned Musk of “very serious consequences” if he proceeded with plans to financially back primary challengers against incumbent Republican lawmakers.
