The trio has been charged with allowing an unlicensed driver to operate a vehicle, related to the incident where their son drove a Jaguar F-Space Sports without a valid license. The collision with an Acura Utility vehicle caused a fire, leading to the fatalities.
All three defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bail at GHC50,000 each, with two sureties.
Meanwhile, the couple’s son has been sentenced to six months in prison by an Accra Juvenile and Family Court after admitting to eight counts of manslaughter, dangerous driving, and driving without a license.

According to the prosecution, Bishop Amoako and his wife were aware their son was driving the vehicle without a license.
The incident occurred during the celebration of the birthday of Bishop Amoako’s older son, when Linda Bonsu Bempah handed over the keys to the Jaguar F-Pace Sports SUV, knowing the 16-year-old was unlicensed.
The young driver collided with the rear of an Acura utility vehicle at the Mensah Wood Avenue junction, sparking the tragic incident.
