E-Levy to Be Scrapped by End of March — Deputy Finance Minister Confirms
Tax removal set to take effect after approval of the 2025 budget and appropriation

Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Ampem Nyarko has announced that the controversial Electronic Levy (E-Levy) will be removed by the end of March 2025, contingent on the approval of the 2025 budget and appropriation.
Ampem Nyarko in an interview clarified that the removal will take effect as soon as Parliament finalizes the budget process.
“It will take effect the moment the budget and the appropriation is approved, and that will be by the 31st of this month,” he confirmed.
Nyarko also stressed the need for a comprehensive review of Ghana’s investment climate, highlighting the country’s strong democratic reputation but acknowledging that other factors are hindering investment inflows.
He urged deeper analysis and stakeholder engagement to address these challenges.
