Dr. Ransford Abbey, Acting CEO of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), has assured stakeholders of his unwavering commitment to revitalizing the cocoa sector.
He emphasized improving the livelihoods of farmers and aligning with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision to place cocoa farmers at the heart of policies and decisions.
In an interview, Dr. Abbey shared his hands-on leadership approach, which includes engaging directly with farmers to build strong partnerships and identify pressing challenges.
“We are bringing hard work and strong leadership to deliver on the President’s vision. The goal is to prioritize the cocoa farmer, address key issues, and turn things around,” he stated.
As Ghana remains the world’s second-largest cocoa producer, the sector faces hurdles such as low prices, limited resources, and climate change effects. Dr. Abbey reaffirmed his determination to collaborate with stakeholders to drive sustainable growth and secure the future of Ghana’s cocoa industry.
