Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) in charge of Corporate Affairs, Dr. Bossman Asare, has refuted demands for the dismissal of EC officials.

He argued that such critics fail to grasp the Commission’s achievements since 2020.

Dr. Asare commended the EC’s track record of transparency, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, emphasizing its commitment to delivering free and fair elections.

Highlighting the success of the 2020 election, he noted, “Ghana remains a leader in Africa when it comes to election quality, with results open to both domestic and international observers.”

He defended the EC’s decisions, including the re-collation of parliamentary election results in constituencies like Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South, and Tema Central, which sparked debate.

He also stressed that those questioning the Commission’s actions should seek redress through the courts rather than undermining its constitutional mandate.

Dr. Asare concluded by reaffirming the EC’s dedication to upholding democratic principles, calling on critics to acknowledge its contributions to Ghana’s electoral system.
