- Criticizes NPP leadership
- Questions Bawumia’s economic credibility
Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Eric Adjei, has taken a swipe at the New Patriotic Party (NPP), mocking their post-election “Thank You Tour” as a chaotic and disorganized spectacle.
Speaking on Lawson TV/Radio’s Ghana Se Sen Morning Show, Mr. Adjei criticized the tour, claiming it has become a platform for internal squabbles rather than gratitude.
“This is no Thank You Tour — it’s a Demolition Tour. They should’ve just stayed home,” he remarked.
Mr. Adjei accused the NPP of failing to unite after their 2024 electoral loss, suggesting that party leaders are more interested in blaming and attacking each other than taking responsibility or showing appreciation to their supporters.
He went on to question the quality of leadership within the party, particularly in regions known for intellectual giants. “A region that produced statesmen like Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Appiah Menkah, and former President Kufuor now has Wontumi and Abronye as its Regional Chairmen — it’s baffling,” he said.
Mocking Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), he added, “You have Wontumi flaunting gold on his TV station to showcase wealth — is this the kind of character you’re promoting?”
Mr. Adjei also dismissed comments from NPP leaders blaming the National Cathedral expenditure for their defeat. “Bawumia claims the $58 million for the Cathedral was a factor in their loss, but when President Akufo-Addo was calling you an economic wizard, what advice did you give him?”
Concluding, Mr. Adjei warned his own party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), that the opportunity handed to the youth under President Mahama’s leadership should not be wasted. “If they mess this up, that could be the end for them,” he cautioned.
