The family of the late highlife legend Dada KD has officially set Saturday, August 16, 2025, as the date for his final funeral rites.

In recognition of his immense contribution to Ghanaian music, Dada KD will be honoured with a state-assisted burial at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.

The announcement came during a one-week remembrance event held at the East Legon Executive Club, where loved ones, fans, and prominent figures from the music industry gathered to celebrate his life and legacy.

Among the distinguished attendees were celebrated musicians Kojo Antwi, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, Daddy Bosco, Fred Kyei Mensah, Koka, and Nana Romeo, along with traditional leaders and key industry stakeholders.

Following the ceremony in Accra, the legendary singer will be laid to rest in his hometown, Agona Asaaman in the Central Region. A thanksgiving service is scheduled for Sunday, August 17, to conclude the funeral proceedings.

Mourners are encouraged to wear black and white attire to reflect the joyful celebration of a life that touched countless hearts through music.

Dada KD passed away on May 17 after a brief illness. His passing marks the end of an era, but his musical legacy continues to resonate with generations of Ghanaians. The upcoming funeral is expected to draw fans, dignitaries, and fellow musicians from across the nation to bid farewell to one of Ghana’s most beloved highlife icons.
