Traditional rulers from the Ashanti Region and beyond convened at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to honor the esteemed Akwasidae festival, presided over by His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.
Held every six weeks, the Akwasidae is a pivotal cultural event in the Ashanti Kingdom, dedicated to venerating ancestors, preserving rich traditions, and fostering unity among the people.
This edition showcased a breathtaking display of traditional regalia, vibrant drumming, dynamic dancing, and colorful pageantry, all celebrating the kingdom’s cultural splendor.
The occasion also anticipates the attendance of former President John Dramani Mahama, alongside other prominent figures from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
