Former Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, popularly known as King Zuba, has spoken out against allegations linking him to the actions of alleged thugs who reportedly attempted to disrupt the Ashanti Regional Council of State Election.

In an emotional interview on the Ghana Se Sen Morning Show with Kwame Tanko, King Zuba described the accusations as a calculated attempt to tarnish his reputation and derail his aspirations of becoming the Kumasi Metropolitan Mayor.

“This is a plot to destroy my name, but I trust in God’s plan,” King Zuba declared, visibly emotional. He firmly denied any involvement in the chaos, stating that he arrived at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), where the election took place, alone and had no association with any disruptive activities.

“I have watched all the videos. Where in the footage do you see me causing chaos? At this stage in my life, why would I even think of seizing a ballot box?” he asked, challenging his accusers to provide evidence.

King Zuba, who served as Obuasi MCE for four years, acknowledged his familiarity with people from Obuasi but emphasized that their actions, if any, were independent of him. “If the thugs have a problem, that is their own problem. I have no hands in it,” he asserted.

He alleged that the accusations were part of a deliberate smear campaign to jeopardize his political future.

“There were many NPP members at the election venue who can testify that I was not involved. This is nothing but an attempt to harm my chances,” he said.

Despite the challenges, King Zuba expressed unshakable faith in God’s purpose for his life.

“What God wants to use me for, it is His will. God has never disappointed me, and He never will,” he said, his voice filled with conviction.

King Zuba urged his supporters and the general public to disregard the false allegations, stating that the truth will ultimately prevail.

“God is my witness, and the plans of men cannot undo His purpose for my life,” he concluded.

The controversy surrounding the Ashanti Council of State election continues to unfold, but King Zuba remains steadfast in defending his integrity and reputation.
