In a strong statement addressing recent rumors circulating on social media and WhatsApp, Isaac Appiah-Kubi, Chairman of the West London Chapter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) UK, has categorically denied claims suggesting his involvement in the mismanagement of funds by the NPP UK communication team during the 2024 election.

The anonymous allegations, which have raised questions about his integrity, suggested that Appiah-Kubi had misappropriated funds and was promised a future succession to the NPP UK Chairmanship. Appiah-Kubi, however, has rejected these claims, firmly stating that he has neither taken any funds nor been promised any leadership position.

“Let me make it abundantly clear,” Appiah-Kubi declared, “I have not taken any funds nor have I been promised a succession to the Chairmanship by anyone spreading these false claims.”

Appiah-Kubi went on to outline the extensive efforts he made during the 2024 election campaign, even before the NPP UK communication engagement team arrived in Ghana. His contributions included significant financial and strategic support for key initiatives, such as the funding and strategizing of Dr. Bawumia’s electric buses vision, which aimed at reducing transport costs for Ghanaians.

Further, Appiah-Kubi highlighted his active participation in several major campaign activities, including joining the General Secretary’s Special Greater Accra Campaign project, conducting radio and TV engagements, and going door-to-door in the La Dadekotopon constituency.

On top of his active campaigning, Appiah-Kubi also made financial contributions to various party initiatives. These included a GHC 10,000 donation to the youth wing’s 1 million T-shirt project, a GHC 9,000 donation to the Bawumia Ladies group for distributing sanitary pads, and additional contributions to the Upper Manya Krobo executives and Adentan constituency.

Appiah-Kubi also supported members of the NPP UK branch who traveled to Ghana by spending over GHC 25,000 to assist them.

In response to allegations regarding the succession of leadership, Appiah-Kubi emphasized that no one is promised leadership positions within the party. “Our branch follows a democratic election process,” he affirmed, rejecting any notion that leadership positions are given as gifts. “Vacant positions are contested by qualified members, as per the principles of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition.”

Appiah-Kubi closed his statement by reiterating his dedication to the NPP and his commitment to supporting the party’s leadership, especially at a time when it faces critical challenges. He urged all members to focus on the party’s future, work toward its unity, and hold the opposition accountable to regain power in 2028.

The Chairman’s final words were a call for all members of the NPP UK to support the current executives and their mandate, while continuing to work together for the success of the party.

“God bless our homeland Ghana. God bless the New Patriotic Party. God bless the NPP UK,” he concluded.
