President John Dramani Mahama has called on newly appointed Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, to rejuvenate Ghana’s sports sector and restore the Black Stars to their former glory.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of 17 ministers at the Jubilee House on Friday, February 7, Mahama emphasized the urgent need for transparency, professionalism, and modern management within the sector.

He urged Adams to prioritize reforming the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and strengthening all sports disciplines to revive Ghana’s reputation as a sports powerhouse.

“Hon. Kofi Adams, your task is monumental, but Ghana’s pride in sports must be restored,” Mahama stated. “The current state of our sports is unacceptable for a country with our history. I expect you to focus on transforming the GFA and ensuring the Black Stars return to their glory days.”

The President’s call to action reflects a renewed national commitment to elevating sports as a source of unity, pride, and global recognition for Ghana.
