President Joe Biden addressed the nation on Thursday, urging Americans to trust the integrity of the election process after Donald Trump’s decisive victory in the 2024 race.

In remarks made from the Rose Garden, Biden emphasized the fairness, honesty, and transparency of the electoral system, stressing that it can be trusted regardless of the outcome.

“We need to put any doubts about the integrity of our electoral system to rest,” Biden stated. “It’s fair, it’s transparent, and it can be trusted, win or lose.”

He also committed to ensuring a peaceful transition of power ahead of Trump’s inauguration, reaffirming his dedication to fulfilling his presidential duties.

“On January 20, we will have a peaceful transition of power here in America,” Biden added, referencing Trump’s refusal to accept his 2020 defeat.

Biden’s comments followed Trump’s victory announcement and Republican gains in the Senate. In a separate address on Wednesday, Vice President Kamala Harris conceded to Trump, highlighting the importance of a peaceful transition.

Biden praised Harris for her dedication during the campaign, calling her a strong partner and public servant. “She gave her whole heart and effort,” he remarked.
