Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is celebrating the remarkable recovery of four-year-old Priscilla, a young leper whose life was transformed through his sponsorship.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Dr. Bawumia shared his joy after Priscilla, who now walks with a prosthetic leg, visited him to express her gratitude, calling it his “best Christmas gift.”
Priscilla, once abandoned by her parents due to her condition, was under the care of Father Andrew Campbell at the Weija Leprosarium. After struggling with severe leg damage, she underwent surgery in Ghana before traveling to Italy for life-changing treatment.
Dr. Bawumia, a patron of Lepers Aid Ghana, met Priscilla during a visit to the leprosarium. With the help of medical support, Priscilla spent five months in recovery, and now, she is able to walk again, bringing immense joy to those who supported her.
Dr. Bawumia expressed his gratitude, writing, “To God be the glory.”
