Bawumia Tops NPP 2028 Race, But Intense Competition Awaits – Mussa Dankwa
Despite leading with 48.1%, Bawumia faces stiff competition from rivals like Kennedy Agyapong and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.

- Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia holds a 48.1% lead in the NPP’s 2028 flagbearer race
- Kennedy Agyapong and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum are gaining ground
- Bawumia’s numbers are lower than expected
A new Global InfoAnalytics poll shows Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia leading the race for the NPP’s 2028 flagbearer position with 48.1%.
However, Executive Director Mussa Dankwa warns that the competition is tougher than before.
The poll ranks Kennedy Agyapong second with 25.1%, followed by Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum (12.5%), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong (7.2%), Bryan Acheampong (4.1%), and Francis Addai Nimo (3.0%).
Despite maintaining the lead, Bawumia’s numbers are lower than expected, signaling a challenging path ahead. Dankwa stressed that the Vice President should not be complacent, as the race remains highly competitive.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong’s support appears to have dipped, possibly due to Dr. Adutwum’s growing influence. With less than three years to the NPP’s next flagbearer selection, the battle for leadership is far from settled.
