The Vice President and 2024 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reaffirmed his steadfast belief in God’s divine purpose for his life, even in the face of electoral defeat.

Speaking at the 31st Watch Night service at Lighthouse Chapel International, Dr. Bawumia emphasized his faith in a brighter future. “I know and believe that God has a plan for me for greater and better things in the future,” he declared, demonstrating his optimism despite losing the 2024 elections to President-elect John Dramani Mahama.

Dr. Bawumia also expressed deep gratitude to God for the peaceful nature of the elections, urging Ghanaians to adopt a spirit of thanksgiving and hope as the nation moves into 2025. He quoted 1 Thessalonians 5:18, saying, “In all things, give thanks to God,” while encouraging citizens to embrace unity and positivity for the years ahead.

Accompanied by his wife, Samira Bawumia, and senior NPP officials, including National Chairman Stephen Ntim, Dr. Bawumia extended warm New Year wishes to all Ghanaians. “From my wife and me, we wish you a Happy New Year. God bless Lighthouse Chapel, and God bless Bishop Dag,” he concluded.
