The Perfect Series Basic Schools Assessment Contest entered its second day with an electrifying atmosphere as DA-Awaatul Islamic School Lartebiokoshie 2 Primary and KG from Ablekuma Central, Greater Accra Region, took center stage on February 18, 2025.

The learners displayed remarkable academic prowess and enthusiasm, making their presence felt in the competition.

Speaking after the audition, Mr. Yissif Adams, Headmaster of DA-Awaatul Islamic School, expressed his excitement about their participation.

He noted that while the school has engaged in many internal competitions, this was their first major external contest.

“It’s a pleasure to be part of this competition because it gives our learners exposure. If we excel, it will bring great encouragement and recognition to the school,” he stated.

Teachers at DA-Awaatul Islamic School emphasized the positive impact of such contests, saying they help boost learners’ confidence and academic performance.

The learners themselves were optimistic, stating that the assessment was enjoyable and that they aimed to answer all questions correctly.

At Lartebiokorshie 2 Primary and KG, Headmistress Adwoa Owusu Kwaakye highlighted the importance of the competition in helping learners overcome timidity.

“Some of our students are very shy, but this contest provides a great opportunity for them to break out of their shells and build confidence,” she said.

However, she also pointed out financial challenges in preparing the students but remained hopeful.

“We are determined to perform well. If we don’t come first, we certainly won’t be last,” she assured.

Teachers at Lartebiokorshie 2 echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing that the contest would help students understand that assessments are not limited to internal school exams but extend to external competitions. “Despite our challenges, we are here to change the narrative and make a positive impact on our school and community,” they declared.

The learners were equally determined, expressing their ambition to take their school to the national level.

Meanwhile, Madam Eva Worname, the Guidance and Counselling Coordinator for the Ablekuma Central Municipal Directorate, visited the audition and lauded the initiative.

She noted that the maiden edition of the contest had motivated more schools to participate.

“This competition is not just about books—it broadens knowledge, encourages learning, and the prizes awarded in the finals were real and impactful,” she emphasized.

With such enthusiasm and determination from both students and educators, the Perfect Series Basic Schools Assessment Contest continues to be a transformative experience for all participants.
