Bagbin to MPs: Honor the Sacrifices of Those Who Believe in You

Bagbin urges first-time MPs to prioritize their constituents, honor sacrifices, and lead with integrity to secure a better future for all

Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has issued a heartfelt appeal to new Members of Parliament (MPs), urging them to prioritize the needs of their constituents and the nation.

Addressing first-time MPs during an orientation session, Bagbin emphasized the profound responsibility lawmakers bear in honoring the sacrifices of the people who entrusted them with their votes.

He reminded MPs of their pivotal role in shaping the future of those who have supported them, often at great personal cost.

“You are a role model. The lives of so many people depend on you. Don’t fail them,” Bagbin stated passionately.

He highlighted the enduring faith constituents place in their representatives, not just during elections but in their daily lives, urging MPs to work diligently and avoid complacency.

“It is not fair at all, and the Almighty God himself will not bless you. Because you don’t need that blessing. And it is true. Whatever you sow, you reap it,” he warned, encouraging MPs to act with integrity and commitment to their duty.
