- Close to $4 million secured in six months, fueling the hospital's transformation
- Chairman Samuel Adu-Boakye urges further donations to ensure the project's success
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has expressed his satisfaction with the impressive progress on the Heal Komfo Anokye project, after inspecting the near-completion of Phase One, which is now 95% finished.
Launched in November 2023 with a goal to raise $10 million, the Heal Komfo Anokye Project is aimed at revitalizing the more than 70-year-old hospital that serves over 12 regions across Ghana. The facility had fallen into a state of disrepair.
During his tour on Friday, January 31, 2025, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II praised the remarkable advancements made so far, noting that Block A’s two floors have been completely renovated and furnished.
The only remaining task is the installation of an oxygen bedhead, after which it will be fully operational.
Samuel Adu-Boakye, Chairman of the Heal Komfo Anokye Project, shared that patients currently housed in temporary wards would soon be relocated to the newly completed section, allowing Phase Two to begin.
Adu-Boakye also emphasized the importance of continued financial support, stating that while they have already raised nearly $4 million in just six months, more contributions are needed to ensure the project’s successful completion.
He expressed gratitude for the donations and reassured the public that the funds are being used effectively.
