Amakyebare: Rainstorm Victims Accuse Ashanti Regional Minister of Neglect

Residents demand urgent intervention after a devastating storm leaves many homeless

Residents of Amakyebare in the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency of the Ashanti Region are questioning why the Ashanti Regional Minister has not visited their community since a rainstorm caused widespread devastation.

A heavy rainstorm that swept through the area about a week ago caused massive destruction, damaging properties worth millions of cedis and rendering over a thousand residents homeless.

Despite visiting other communities affected by similar disasters this year, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, is yet to visit Amakyebare, sparking anger among residents.

Some of the affected residents, in an interview with Lawson Media, accused the Minister of neglect, adding that he appears to be selective in his response.

According to them, his presence could provide much-needed reassurance and prompt action to alleviate their suffering.

They urged him to fulfill his commitment to prioritizing development across the region.
