President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will present his final State of the Nation Address to Parliament on Friday, January 3, 2025.
This address, mandated by Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, serves as his last official report on the nation’s progress before his term concludes.
The event precedes the dissolution of the 8th Parliament on Monday, January 6, 2025, with the 9th Parliament set to convene the same evening to elect its Speaker and Deputy Speakers.
The swearing-in ceremony for the new Parliament will occur at midnight, marking the transition to the next legislative term.
Parliament has urged media outlets to secure accreditation in advance to ensure smooth coverage of these significant proceedings.
