- No official vehicles will be issued to appointees in the current administration
- Directive covers Ministers, Deputies, Regional Ministers, and other political appointees
The Office of the President has reinforced its directive for outgoing political appointees, including Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Regional Ministers, and others, to return all government vehicles by January 3, 2025.
This directive, originally issued at the conclusion of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s first term in 2020, remains in effect as he approaches the end of his second and final term.
The statement, released on December 11, clarifies that no official vehicles will be allocated to appointees under the current administration. The order applies to all Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Regional Ministers, Special Assistants, and other political figures, including those serving on Statutory Boards and Corporations.
All vehicles must be returned to the Chief Director of the relevant Ministries by the set deadline.
