President Nana Akufo-Addo has declared that under his leadership, Ghana’s railway sector has been successfully revived.

During the inauguration of the 97-kilometre Tema-Mpakadan railway line on Friday, November 22, the President highlighted this development as a significant milestone for his administration.

He emphasized that revitalizing the railway sector was a key campaign promise, and he expressed his pride in fulfilling that commitment.

The completion of the Tema-Mpakadan railway line, according to President Akufo-Addo, reflects the government’s determination to enhance the country’s transportation infrastructure. He stressed that an efficient railway system is crucial for Ghana’s economic growth, as it promotes trade, strengthens regional connectivity, and helps alleviate road congestion.

The President reaffirmed his administration’s focus on building a modern, efficient transport network that will support the country’s development goals. He called on Ghanaians to support these initiatives, which he believes will lead to greater economic progress and stability.

“This historic achievement, the first-ever standard gauge railway line in Ghana, represents the bold steps we are taking to modernize our transport infrastructure and fuel the economic growth of our nation,” President Akufo-Addo said.

“This project demonstrates what is possible when vision, commitment, and hard work come together. As president, I made a promise to prioritize the revival and expansion of Ghana’s railway sector, and today we take another significant step forward in fulfilling that promise,” he added.
