A devastating accident in Noberkow, Asunafo South District of the Ahafo Region, has left a family shattered after 30-year-old pregnant woman, Susana Fosuaa Agyeman, was gruesomely killed by a speeding timber truck with registration AS 636-14.
The heartbreaking incident occurred around 4:30 PM on Friday, April 4, 2025, when Susana, returning from the market, alighted from a taxi only to be fatally struck moments later.
Eyewitnesses say she was caught off guard by the fast-approaching truck, which failed to stop in time.
“The truck blew its horn just once as it sped downhill,” recalled eyewitness Williams Asare. “We shouted for her to move, but she stumbled and fell. The truck ran over her—it was horrifying.”
The impact was so severe that her body was mangled, with her unborn child and internal organs exposed. Her remains had to be gathered with a shovel before being taken to the morgue.
Her mother, Afia Fremah, grieving and battling her own health issues, called the tragedy unbearable. “She went to sell goods in the market and never came back. Now her three children are left behind with no one. I’m appealing to the public for help to raise them.”
Her father, Kofi Agyeman, was overcome with emotion: “She was a hardworking single mother. Seeing her lifeless body at the morgue was beyond painful.”
To make matters worse, the truck driver and his mate reportedly fled the scene and have not been in contact with the family or authorities.
Susana’s cousin, Kwame Agala, is calling for justice. “We won’t rest until those responsible are brought to book.”
The grieving family is pleading for support—both emotionally and financially—as they pursue justice and try to care for the three young children Susana left behind.
