Adwumawura Programme Secured with Full Funding – Mahama Assures Ghanaians

President Mahama Assures Ghanaians of Sustainable Funding and Long-Term Success for the Adwumawura Programme

Story Highlights
  • Adwumawura Programme is backed by adequate funding in the 2025 budget
  • The programme is designed to be youth-led
  • Adwumawura promises real impact without the financial shortcomings of past programmes

President John Dramani Mahama has confidently assured the public that the newly launched Adwumawura Programme is fully funded, marking a sharp contrast to past initiatives under President Akufo-Addo’s administration, which were ultimately seen as unfulfilled promises.

At the official launch of the programme on April 28, Mahama described it as an ambitious yet essential step towards the nation’s development.

He emphasized that the Adwumawura Programme would not follow the same path as previous projects that were announced with great excitement but lacked the financial backing to succeed.

Mahama reassured the public that adequate funding has been secured for the programme, with significant allocations provided in the 2025 national budget by the Ministry of Finance.

“This is an ambitious undertaking, but it’s necessary if we are to secure a prosperous and resilient future for the youth of Ghana. Let me make it clear, this is not like past initiatives that were touted with fanfare but fell short due to inadequate funding,” Mahama said.

He highlighted that the programme is designed to be inclusive, youth-led, and entirely Ghanaian-owned, encouraging local participation.

“Many of today’s big businesses started as small enterprises. Adwumawura is meant to empower Ghanaian youth and businesses. So, to be a part of it, you must be Ghanaian,” he added.
