North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has sharply criticized the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) for its ruling in the controversial case involving financial dealings between the National Cathedral Secretariat and JNS Talent Centre Limited, a company tied to Rev. Kusi Boateng, also known as Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

Ablakwa expressed dissatisfaction with CHRAJ’s conclusion that there was no conflict of interest in the GH¢2.6 million transaction, which the Secretariat claimed was a reimbursement to Rev. Kusi Boateng for advancing funds to contractors.

CHRAJ acknowledged that no services were rendered by JNS Talent Centre for the payment but still found no impropriety.

In a November 25, 2024 interview, Ablakwa described the ruling as “bizarre” and questioned its credibility, highlighting inconsistencies such as the lack of records and documentation prior to the release of funds.

“Despite glaring irregularities, CHRAJ astonishingly concludes no conflict of interest occurred. This decision undermines the Commission’s credibility,” he argued.

The Commission also recommended a forensic audit of the National Cathedral project and potential prosecution of its trustees, citing broader allegations of corruption and abuse of power.
