Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah Appointed Acting EOCO Executive Director
New appointment aims to strengthen efforts against organised crime
- President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah as the Acting Executive Director of the EOCO

- Dapilah succeeds Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah
President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah as the Acting Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), effective Monday, January 27, 2025.
The appointment was officially confirmed in a letter dated January 23, signed by Callistus Mahama, the Secretary to the President.
This decision follows the provisions of Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 11(1) of the Economic and Organised Crime Act, 2010 (Act 804).
However, it is still subject to the advice of EOCO’s Governing Board in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
Dapilah succeeds Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah and is expected to leverage his experience to strengthen EOCO’s strategic operations, ensuring more effective law enforcement and a heightened fight against organised crime in Ghana.
