The Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly officially welcomed its 19 newly appointed Assembly Members on Monday, February 17, 2025.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Assembly Hall, was officiated by His Lordship Sydney Braimah, Magistrate Court Judge, Ejura, and inaugurated by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Luisa Benon (Mrs.).
The appointment aligns with Section 3 of the Local Government Act 2016 (Act 936).

Speaking on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive and His Excellency John Mahama, Madam Luisa Benon urged the newly sworn-in members to adhere to Section 16(1) of the Local Government Act.
She emphasized their duty to maintain close contact with their electoral areas, engage the public on matters for discussion at the Assembly, gather opinions and proposals, and actively participate in communal development efforts.

Hon. Dr. Bawa Braimah Mohammed, Member of Parliament for Ejura Sekyedumase, welcomed the appointees and reminded them of their responsibility under Sections 12(1) and 13 of the Act.
He stressed their mandate to develop and execute strategies for effective resource mobilization and the overall progress of the Municipality.
On behalf of the newly appointed Assembly Members, Nana Kontor, ‘Aboafohene’ of the Ejura Traditional Council, expressed gratitude to President John Mahama for their appointments.
The ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including Heads of Departments, Security Agency leaders within the Municipality, Traditional Authorities, as well as the NDC Chairman and some party executives.
