Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign French central defender Mamadou Sarr from partner club Strasbourg for £11.9 million.

The 19-year-old, who has made just 14 appearances for Strasbourg, will join Chelsea in the summer. This move marks the first permanent transfer from Strasbourg to Stamford Bridge, as both clubs are owned by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital under the BlueCo umbrella.

Strasbourg will make an immediate profit of £3.4 million, having only acquired Sarr from Lyon for £8.5 million last summer.

The pre-arranged nature of the deal ensures that Strasbourg will not need to make any adjustments to their squad, avoiding the need to drop any of their three loanees—midfielder Andrey Santos, left-back Caleb Wiley, or goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic—due to FIFA’s loan player limits.

In addition to Sarr, Chelsea have also secured a deal for 16-year-old Kazakh striker Dastan Satpaev, who recently completed a successful trial at Chelsea’s Cobham Training Centre. Satpaev is expected to join Chelsea’s academy teams from FC Kairat.
