President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Malik Basintale, the Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
This appointment follows the resignation of Kofi Baah Agyepong, the former CEO, who cited personal commitments as his reason for stepping down. Basintale, a dynamic and influential figure in Ghanaian politics, will officially take up the role on Monday, January 27, 2025.
Expressing his gratitude on X (formerly Twitter), Basintale thanked President Mahama for the opportunity, assuring his dedication to the position: “Thank you, Mr President, H.E John D. Mahama. We shall not fail you❤️🙏🏽🇬🇭.”
Kofi Baah Agyepong, who led YEA for two years, tendered his resignation with appreciation for the chance to contribute to tackling youth unemployment in Ghana.
His departure aligns with a series of leadership changes in government agencies following the 2024 Presidential Election.
