Mahama Ayariga, the newly confirmed Majority Leader for the NDC Parliamentary Caucus, has vowed to prioritize the “Reset Ghana” agenda while continuing the legacy of his predecessors in Parliament.
Succeeding Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, who now serves as Finance Minister, Ayariga emphasized the importance of leadership continuity. “I am guided by the esteemed leaders who came before me,” he remarked, referring to Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, Hon. Cletus Avoka, Hon. Benjamin Kunbuor, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, and Hon. Ato Forson as his guiding figures.
Ayariga reiterated the NDC’s dedication to supporting President John Dramani Mahama’s national agenda.
“As the Leader of the House and Leader of Government Business, I assure the people of Ghana that, in line with the mandate given to President Mahama and the 187 members of this caucus, we will work tirelessly to reset Ghana.”
He also emphasized collaborative governance, affirming, “While we are an overwhelming majority, we will not abuse our power. We aim to foster inclusivity, build consensus, and remain committed to the principles of probity and accountability.”
Acknowledging potential hurdles, Ayariga expressed confidence in overcoming them through dialogue and unity.
“The road ahead may not be easy, but I am optimistic that together, through mutual respect and constructive dialogue, we will achieve our shared vision.”
